Tirrenia Group currently comprises Tirrenia di Navigazione S.p.A. and Sicilia Regionale Marittima S.p.A. (Siremar). On November 2009, in fact, the Tirrenia companies Caremar, Saremar and Toremar, serving minor islands of the Regions Campania, Sardegna and Toscana, passed under control of the respective Regions.
Tirrenia and Siremar were admitted to the extraordinary administration under Italian law n. 39 of 2004, February 18, during Summer and Autumn 2010 (look at h.p. of Italian version of this site). The extraordinary administration is an Italian bankruptcy procedure that can be assimilated to the United States Bankruptcy Code Chapter 11. So both, Tirrenia and Siremar, are able to offer scheduled connections.
