EUAND INTERNATIONAL SECURITY LEGISLATION

In compliance with security legislation, names and licence plates indicated in the tickets shall correspond to passengers and their accompanying vehicles. Differently, controlling officers may denyy access to ports and boarding as well.

FARES, FEES AND BOOKINGS

All fares are inclusive of V.A.T. (if due) and fees. The national ticket purchase implies the payment of the transit price added to the presale fee as well as the fee due for the reservation of the seat or garage area assigned. No reduction or allowance may be granted on these fees which, though included in the fares reported in this website, will not be refunded in case of modification or cancellation of the booking. Fares do not include meals, drinks, taxes and port charges.
At the Tirrenia Ticket offices and at the authorized Travel Agencies it is possible to book in advance a seat for € 6.00per Passenger and the parking area for € 7.50 per accompanying vehicle, except for Bari-Durres line that is € 1.00 per Passenger and the parking area for € 1.00 per accompanying vehicle, without obligation to purchase the whole ticket. This opportunity is suspended from 15th May to 15th September, when the payment of the whole ticket is required for booking departures scheduled from 15th June to 15th September.
Seats booked will be reserved till the date indicated in the booking slip. After that term seats assigned and not yet wholly paid for will be cancelled without any refund.
In case of confirmation of the booking through the payment of the whole ticket, instead, presale fees and charges for the assignment of seats and garage areas will not be due again, as being already paid.
Throughout the year it is possibile to make a booking free of charge with Tirrenia Ticket offices and Travel agencies, or directly through this website, or through the Booking and InformationCallCenter. This booking will be confirmed through the purchase of the whole ticket within the same day and no later than the day before departure.

BOARDING

For trip destinations to Italian harbours with no accompanying vehicle, boarding is required fifteen minutes before departure as scheduled.For voyages with an accompanying vehicle, boarding is required two hours at least before the departure time scheduled. For international voyages, either confirmed through the ticket purchase or not, no boarding will be allowed before checking in with the shipping agency two hours (three hours for parties) before departure as scheduled.

In any case, after these terms have expiredno boarding will be allowed.

CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS AND TICKET REFUND

In case of cancellation of bookings, the ticket will be refunded with the deduction of the penalties below except for fees which will be charged in any case:

10% for bookings cancelled within the day before departure
25% for bookings cancelled on the same day of ship departure
Reimbursement will be barred in any case after six months from departure.
No refund is due for bookings not cancelled.

DISCOUNTS

Fare discounts as indicated elsewhere on this website may not be accumulated and will not be acknowledged after the voyage.

EXCLUSIVE USE

When cabins are assigned for exclusive use, half the full fare shall be paid for each unused bed. The Company reserves the right of not granting cabin exclusive use in certain periods of the year

ON BOARD CONTROLS

In the event, that, during the trip, a Passenger should be found lacking the ticket without having informed the Captain or the Officer in charge, he shall be obliged to pay the total amount due for the ticket increased by 100 %.In the event that, during the trip, a Passenger should be found lacking the documentation giving him the right to the special reduced fare applied upon the issuing of the reduced ticket, he shall be obliged to pay the difference between the reduced fare, already paid, and the full fare, increased by 100 %.

PASSPORTS AND HEALTH CERTIFICATES

For trips with destination to a foreign harbour a passport or any document valid for expatriation and/or a visa and vaccination certificates will be required. Tirrenia is not liable for boarding denied for irregular documents and in this case no refund will be due.

ACCOMPANYING VEHICLES

Applicable fares are inclusive of loading and unloading expenses.

ACCOMPANYING CARS

Fare categories are as follows:

- 1st category: up to 4 meters length;
- 2nd category: more than 4 meters length;
Motor cars of more than 1.80 meters height, with or without roof baggage, are charged as the "Caravan" fare.
Upon ticket purchase it is mandatory to declare the transport of liquid gas powered vehicles. Failing such declaration, the boarding right will be denied.
It is forbidden boarding vehicles carrying dangerous or harmful materialswhich are not allowed by applicable regulations as well as of containers with any flammable materials.

CARAVANS, MINIBUS, MINIVANS, BAGGAGE TRAILERS, TOWED BOATS, CAMPERS

For all such vehicles the linear meter fare applies. Fractions smaller or larger than 25 cm. are rounded off respectively to the lower or higher half meter. The Coach fare applies to minibus with more than 8 seats. Minivans beyond the limit of 15 cub. mt. are considered commercial vehicles and must be shipped with a Bill of Lading.

COACHES

If the coach is accompanying passengers, the linear meter fare applies. Otherwise they are considered commercial vehicles and must be shipped with a Bill of Lading.

BOATS OR ITEMS ON THE ROOF OF THE ACCOMPANYING VEHICLES

In the event that the total car height is beyond 1.80 meters, the "Caravan" fare shall be applied and the fare for the boat or item on the car roof shall also be due.
If the boat length is bigger than the car length, the larger length fare shall be applied to the car.
Windsurfs, canoes and bicycles carried by hand pay the relevant "Surf" or "Bike" fare.
Windsurfs, small boats, canoes and baggage on the accompanying car roof are transported free of charge, provided that their length is less than the car length and that the overall height is less than 1.80 meters.

ACCOMPANYING BAGGAGE

For safety and security reasons only carry on baggage is admitted. To be admitted on board, baggage will only include parcels containing personal items.Carry on baggage that, due to its size, does not fit into the cabin, must be put in the ship luggage van.
Valuables, jewels or money may be deposited at the on-board Commissioner Office, provided they are not of large size.

ACCOMPANYING ANIMALS

Transport of accompanying dogs and cats is admitted. Dogs shall wear the muzzle and during the trip shall be lodged in the on-board dog house. Small sized dogs are allowed in the cabin on Captain approval. Cats must be housed by the owner in small cages or baskets. Animals care and maintenance during transport are at the owner’s charge and risk.
The following documentation is required for the accompanying animal:

- for all lines: a veterinary certificate stating that the animal is not sick;

- for international trips: an international health certificate.
