REGULATIONS FOR TRANSPORT OF MOTOR VEHICLES, TRAILERS, SCOOTERS AND MOTORCYCLES ACCOMPANYING PASSENGERS

"Tirrenia di Navigazione S.p.A.", with main offices in Naples at 2, rione Sirignano, in the following referred to as "the Company", takes upon itself the transport of motor vehicles, trailers, and other items accompanying passengers, at the Terms specified in these Regulations. The Passenger, upon buying the transport ticket, implicitly declares to know, accept and the intention to abide to the present Regulations. The abstract of the regulations which apply to the transport of vehicles on the Company ships is included with the transport ticket. The text of these Regulations is available to users at Company offices and Agents, and c/o the on board Commanding Officer.

Art. 1 - Characteristics of accompanying vehicles

Are considered accompanying vehicles, and shall pay as such, cars, minibus, campers, group buses, small vans without any freight, re-entering in the limit of 1,500 Kg of weight and of 15 cubic meters of volume, vans without freight, house-vans, baggage vans, motor boats and other towed boats, motorcycles, scooters and bicycles. In the following articles all above mentioned vehicles are referred to as "motor vehicles".

Art. 2 - Space booking and fares

The rules for Passengers accommodations booking apply also to the booking of space for motor vehicles accompanying passengers (see art. 1 of "Regulations for the transport of passengers and accompanying baggage). Upon booking the registration book must be presented. Company fares for the transport of motor vehicles accompanying passengers are those approved by the Ministry of Transportation and Navigation. The fare price does not include any insurance coverage of damage or loss that may occur during transport. The Company grants the facilities provided by the regulations in being. The fare includes the charges for vehicle handling in the garage.

Art. 3 -Tickets

Persons traveling with accompanying vehicles must have a regular ticket. Vehicles are registered on the passenger ticket or on tickets connected to the passenger ticket. Each adult passenger cannot have more than one accompanying vehicle. Passengers with more than one accompanying vehicle shall ship those beyond the first one, through a " Vehicle transport contract" and shall pay the applicable fare. In any case cannot be accepted as accompanying vehicles those containing furnishing and /or goods intended for commerce or distribution. Passage tickets are valid only for the departure shown on the ticket. The right to refund of unused tickets is subject to the same terms and modalities as stated in art. 14 of the "Regulations for the transport of passengers and accompanying baggage".

Art. 4 - Embarkation

Passengers equipped with final tickets must drive their vehicles to the shipside not later than two hours before departure time. Otherwise, whichever the reason of the delay, embarkation shall not be guaranteed, even with fully valid tickets for both the vehicle and the passenger. The Passenger with an accompanying vehicle directed from a foreign port of call to a national destination must contact in advance the Company office or Agent in the embarkation port to ascertain local authority regulations. Whatever is the order of arrival, the ship Commanding Officer has the right, to his unquestionable opinion, to decide for technical reasons the order of vehicle embarkation. In the event of an accompanying vehicle without ticket, the acceptance for embarkation of the vehicle is subject to the regulations for on board ticketing, as stated in art. 6 of "Regulations for transport of passengers and accompanying baggage".

Art. 5 - Disembarkation

If at the arrival to the destination port sea state, or other causes not dependent from the Carrier, should not allow vehicle disembarkation, vehicles shall be disembarked, as soon as possible, at the next landing (the next port along the itinerary or the original port of departure) and transported, as soon as possible, from there to the destination port, if the passenger is disembarked there. No refund or compensation may be claimed by the passenger.

Art. 6 - Responsability

The Company shall be held free from any responsability for loss or damages which the vehicles may incur during embarkation and disembarkation for causes not attributable to itself. Passenger are responsible toward the Company and third parties for damages caused by their accompanying vehicles due to their fault, both during embarkation/disembarkation and during navigation. Specifically passengers , according to present regulations, must present vehicles for embarkation with an amount of fuel in the tank barely enough for embarkation and disembarkation maneuvering. Vehicles shall have no fuel leakage and must be left, after embarkation, with windscreens and all other electric services stopped, internal and external lights off and with doors unlocked. In any case the Company is not responsible for the luggage left in the vehicles, beyond the limits and conditions set forth in art. 10 of the "Regulations for transport of passengers and accompanying baggage". Motor vehicles with gas powered engine (GPL or methane) are admitted for boarding only if explicitly declared by the passenger at the booking. Moreover the passenger must abide to the following conditions: - The liquefied petrol gas feeding system must be built in accordance with the prescription in force, as issued by the Ministry of Transportation and Navigation. Such accordance must be certified in the vehicle logbook; - The valve of the tank containing the liquefied petrol gas must be kept closed during the vehicle stay on board. The passengers must block their vehicles with the emergency brakes and engaging the gear. Passengers must leave the engine keys in view inside the vehicle. The Passengers cannot access the accompanying vehicle during the trip. The Company is not responsible for theft or damage to goods left in the vehicle. Goods of high value such as money, jewelry, cameras or movie cameras may be kept , upon passenger request, at the ship Tourist Office, at no charge. The Carrier responsability for the transport of motor vehicles, trailers, scooters, motorcycles accompanying passengers, and the limits of its liability are determined, for what not specified in these Regulations, by art. 422 and 423 of the Italian Code of Navigation.

Art. 7 - Other items

For those matters not specifically dealt with in these Regulations, the Italian Code of Navigation applies.

Art. 8 - Additions and modifications to the Regulations

Additions and modifications to these Regulations shall be made known by the Company through advertisements, published in the premises referred to in the introduction and shall enter into force at the date therein specified.
